YSA Last Chance for Flatfish 9/25
« on: September 25, 2011, 08:19:01 PM »
Pulled together The Tom-binator and Cooch along with our friend Scroaty McNutsack to take a ride for flukies or whatever would bite. Lines off in the fog @ 0540- listened to the lack of intelligence from Scroaty and his cronies, and headed right for the SH reef. Round the Hook and found flat conditions with occasional swellage. Tried shallow and hit a few; went deep a few more. Water was clear and the fog seemed to be locked in in the bay.

Bounced around the reef to Jimbo's hump and a few other spots. Sun broke out and it was nice. Motored down past the Highlands Bridge oceanside, saw some birds in the wash could not hook up anything but Lionel and his band of idiots. Cooch had a couple more throwbacks and we all added some doggies and other assorted garbagefish. We actually hooked up a few CB's on the drift of all things. Saw quite a few boats deep side of SR1 but never made it down that far. Thought about heading back to catch the Free NFL BBQ at the Blue Rock but decided since it was so nice out to just try a few more drifts.

Fluke season ended for us very similar to the start- nothing much going on. We burned a good amount of E10 and 2stroke oil, with not a lot to show for it; however it was all much much better than work.

Plan is to hopefully get a few striper trips in as the water cools then switch back to mountain biking for the winter. Maybe even take a year off from the boat next year to fatten up the kids' college funds-we'll see. Thanks to all who made it out with me this year on Ya Sista's A$$, and to those JA's that always seemed to have an excuse or three (putting up blinds?!?!- really?) it's your loss. McNutsack- out.

Sheesh my sons 2 and I'm already saving for college, everyone asks me if ill teach him the trade and give him the buisness? I tell them if he touches a hammer ill break his arm.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Good try Warren. Not one keeper for me this year. rgmn Atleast I only tried twice. I don't think I will even bother next year.

Hope you have a good Striper season.  t^

Frikkin Scroaty McNutsack seems to end up on my boat more often than not.
