I cant speak for any one else ,but during the boatin season once a month i fill up with super and when its half way i use spray carb cleaner, I do this out on the water.. I also treat the fuel each fill up. This will help keep the carbs cleaner.

As for hours? If you do preventive maintance, as with any thing it will last longer. I never heard of a certian "hour" carb rebuilt.

I know a guy who has a 24-25 cobia 2004 with a mercury outboard. He uses this boat almost every day and has 7xx hours on it and hes never rebuilt them yet!!!

Why does it Matter to you? cause I could careless.........

should only need it if you got bad gas, let the gas sit in them til varnished, or filters clogged with sediment which made it into carbs...

Like Joe said, not usually as a preventive measure, more for corrective action to address a problem
