Late Monday report
« on: October 12, 2011, 05:40:32 PM »
Anchored up at romers about 6:30am and cracked clams for at least 4 hours. Got 3 keeper bass biggest at 42". The fish were biting very wierd. Had a bunch of run offs but they just dropped it before you could pick up the rod. Ran south and stopped a few times on marks with nothing till we got to highlands bridge area. It was all you could catch weak fish for and hour. Only a couple keepers but they went back. My first weak fish ever. Happy about that. Went to the reef with some greenies and could not really get set up on my spot. Water was nasty and not much current. We did get one tog but shy of the mark. Some sea bass and a ling. There was a kite flying south at about the 3 mile line so we went and caught that too. Had about 200' of fishing line attached to 100' of kite string. Nice kite too. Anyway headed back north and ran into some blues and played with those till we got tired and gave romers one more try till well past dark.  Some garbage fish only.  Nice day on the water. Not to often you can go close to full throttle out front.
My buddy Mike with the 42" bass.Sea lice but a little thin.
