11-1-11 Backwaters report
« on: November 02, 2011, 07:50:54 AM »
Set out last night to find some fish with stripes in the backwaters of Ocean Co.  Surf out front was rough and I wasn't in the mood for that.
Ran in Bucktail on the way out and he said "Go get em".
Well get em I did Bob.
Landed 4 fish to 30in and dropped 4 more.  All hookups were on an SP Minnow or XRap.  At the end of the tide the bite died.  Moved a round with no action.  Went back to where the fish were after the tide started moving again, but they weren't interested.
Those were the first stripes I've seen since May  thud so they were long overdue.  And first fish I'm have in over a month.
A friend called the other night and asked if I thought there were still fish hitting in the bay..... t^ yes.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

I'm aiming to get back out tonight or Friday.  Gotta find the one that got away.  The last hookup of the night fought and ran 3 times as hard as the 30in in the top pic.  Then he spit the hook  ::)
