After a long day of work, and fighting traffic for what seemed like hours, I met Tom down at his boat for a shot at the bassesiz. We launched out of Leonardo about 7:30PM and headed out to the tip o' the Hook. Beautiful night, lots of boats in the area. Water temp. was 50 even.
We immediately started marking lots of good stuff between 25-50' deep. I drifted some eel-slithery things and Tom jigged some shinys, to no avail.
Moved around to the rips and put out the trollers and BAM! the light rod goes off. It's bent in half, tip almost hitting the gunwhale. As I pull the rod out of its holder drag is smokin' on a nice run. Got the drag tweaked up a bit and get a few cranks on him and GONE. Never got him close...
That was it, trolled around the area trying to hookup again, but NADA. Good marks all around the area. Got back around 10:30. We will get them next time...Thanks Tom!!
