Fished turkey day with a crew of Kirk, Doug, Neil and Gary. Hit the grounds early and it was drop and reel jigging action with bass from just short to the high teens, a few big blues mixed in- zero boat traffic and we were all alone on the fish. Caught approximately 40 or so fish in 3 drifts then went togging. Not much luck on the tog so we headed for the barn early.
Out again on black Friday with my sons, my buddy Scott and his son Andrew - who had never fished from a boat or caught a striped bass. We were one of the first boats on the grounds and we were greeted by thousands of birds with fish and bait stacked. Action was hot with the boys catching a mix of bass along with a few monster blues. Unfortunately, we had to make an early run for the barn as one of the crew was chumming. We kept 4 fish and released the rest to swim another day. Back to the inlet by 0800 hours. God bless America and God bless our troops.
