Kudos for Maritime Matt
« on: November 25, 2011, 12:45:20 PM »
This morning in Shark River my boat would not start.  While standing around trying to decide what our options were  a truck pulling an empty trailer pulls up.  Says Task Marine on the side and I see a NJ saltwater sticker.  I walked over and introduced myself. Matt ask about the boat and immediately got his jumper pac out and hooked it up to the boat without being asked.  We did not get it started but what more can you say about a guy totally out of his home area quickly offering to help just becuase we were having a problem.  Matt thanks again for your help.

Many THANKS from all the good members on this site. Like wise, you have been a growing source of fisherman dedicated to keeping your rigs in top shape and giving me the opportunity to be there when needed. I make myself available whenever I can and really try to accommodate everyone. I have no set hours so my phones are just a ring away.

Capt.Dave, I wish I could have spent more time with you with your dilemma so you were able to go get them toggys, ;D, but I was on schedule with one of my customer's to get his Grady hauled out at that time. Feel free to call me with any questions on your Ficht motor, or your boat. By the way, nice Grady you had there. Much of my experience came from working at 2 Grady dealerships.

Luna, thanks for referring your buddy from Virginia. I'm expecting him tomorrow.
Hotrod, let me know on the s1000 and I'll be calling you in the next couple of days.
Thanks again.
Matt

I talked to Matt for the first time today. He called to follow-up on an email I had sent to him and which he answered in reference to some repairs I would like. He allowed me to pick his brain for a bit and even gave me some pointers on doing some of the repairs myself. I will definitly keep him in mind for my future repairs.

Matt: Keep an I out for a "cheap" radar for me would ya? It's on my "list".

Thanks again,

Fred

Brought the batteries home and charged them so we could eliminate that as a problem.  Went back on Sat and found the bolts that hold the top of the starter on were loose and let the armature get out of alingment.  Tightened things up and the motor started and ran fine.  Too bad for the Togs as we did find a few.
