Hello There

Just joined about a week or so ago. DJ's the name.  Love to bass fish (fresh water) but early last summer started taking my little 14' fisher into sandy hook to do some flukin and now I can't get enough (wife wants to kill me). Was looking for a forum to pick up some more tips and the like and landed this site.  I'm amazed at all the info and the help i've already received.  I'm located in Hunterdon County

 grtn Welcome to the site DJ. I have a 14ft fisher  I use in the Delaware river, great boat for that. t^ You should have no trouble getting pointers on fishing the Sandy Hook area, plenty of guys here who fish that area t^ Any input you have is greatly welcome.  slt

Welcome, DJ! You will find a TON of information here from proabably the nicest guys/gals on the web.

Have you fished Round Valley? One of the guys (forget who though) on here will be speaking at a show on trolling Round Valley.

I fish a lot of round valley, spruce run, and furnace lake up in oxford. I'm only 10-15 min from the reservoirs.  I also have a few ponds I like to fish from shore.

Just took my first blackfish trip in December and landed a small 15 incher...but man was it fun and good eatin! Learned a lot and boy oh boy did I swing and miss a bunch!  Like I said earlier I'm lurking around reading all the tidbits I can on blackfishing, flukin, and bluefishing...now I think I might try my hand at trying to get a striper...never done it but heard they are a fun fish to catch.

forgot to mention...yes I saw the info on NJ sportshow in edison.  I'm hoping to head there tomorrow to catch a few talks.

Welcome Sandy Hook bay is a great place to fluke fish.There is an area called horse u cove that is good in the spring.

Hi DJ,  Raritan bay is another great place to fluke fish and Striper fish in April. Your boat will be fine on days when the wind is not honking. You can launch at the Keyport municipal ramp.
