How do I fsh Manahawkin bay?
« on: April 27, 2012, 09:35:32 PM »
Hey all,

Going to have a small boat down the shore this year, going to finally do some fishing.
Need some help here,

Not really sure where to start and how to fish Manahawkin bay.  I really don’t want to drive too far from my home location(IE to the complete other end of the island )

Will be down in the area mid-June.  Around 50th street.

-I would like to fish fluke, sea bass, and weakfish(if in season)…where should I go?
-Is there an area I should stay away from?
-Are there any wrecks I can fish over?

-Chris

For weakfish I recommend using harsh shrimp at the middle grounds in beach haven. However two years ago I caught 100 weakfish in 2 weeks in the hole off of the red house ( that recently burned down). Usually if you are fishin for weakfish you will inevitably run into some 1-3 lb blues. For fluke I would try double creek channel, the BI & BB buoy, and the flats. Hope this helps.

Thanks Brian,

Where is the "Red House"?  Do you have a street number?

It is on the marshland. Probably about a mile south of the causeway bridge
