Fished with Nickshaw Clementi and his two buddies, brothers Chris and Rich. To say the least the ball bustin was non-stop. We put in our time today getting out early in a strong west on an incoming. UGHH! SHB was what to be expected. Not too bad but a touch of a reminder that it can get ugly like a witches brew if it wanted. Stayed out of the RB and turned around the hook to catch a little relief along the beach. Anchored at the clam bed and found the mother load of skates. Tried another local and same with a blue fish mixed in. Not good. Killed a couple hours in both these places releasing more skates hoping something would get going.
Wind against made it tough to get the lines laying right. Resorted to the troll with consistent action, double knockdowns and a little burn in the arms for the guys. Couldn't find a stripe if I painted it on them. The place was covered with the Blues. Had some fun, waited out the tide change and set-up for the bait bite back toward the hook. Conditions looked very good and prospects appeared right with readings on the scope. Kept the chum going with high hopes. Fish absolutely had lock jaw for us. Pulled the pin at 4:30 giving it our best shot. Still had a good time catching the yellow eyes and put a couple in the box for takeout
Chris put the pins to the first one on a double header with his brother. Here's a couple of pics of Nick and Rich working the sticks.
