Google Earth?

Is anyone using Google Earth to identify fishing structure? I am using Homeport for my Garmin and it has an interface with Google Earth. It lets you view your waypoints on GE. I'm looking at some of the 'lumps' that I have charted and you can easily identify them on GE too. Pretty cool.

I bought a new Garmin 541 last year and I am just using their bluewater mapping that came installed. Is the homeport software used with that or is better then the bluewater????? MORE INFO PLEASE ;D

Did you get the G2 Vision card for it?  I did, and at first I thought it was garbage, however the fish eye 3d view is actually very good and detailed.  It gives a very accurate underwater depiction of the contours of the bottom.  I do not believe it will actually show known wrecks, but I haven't tested that yet.  For channel edges, lumps, and contours it really is good.  I compare it to the depthfinder readings and am finding it to be spot on.  I haven't tried the autoguidance feature yet or the Mariners eye 3d very much.

Homeport allows you to view all of the Vision Blue(whatever) on your computer to direct enter tracks, routes, waypoints etc. The program is $25 and well worth it. I spent all winder adding waypoints and scouring the maps for potential sites. Using it with Google should be really good.
