I figured I'd post a late report from Saturday. Headed out at dead low tide. Had some trouble finding bunker in Great Kills. Ran down to Keyport, no luck there either so ended up fishing with fresh bought bait and a few live ones we managed to snag out in the bay. Bite was really slow throughout most of the incoming. It wasn't until the top of the tide that it really picked up. Had some good action on chunks and heads, but really nothing but bluefish to show for. Saw a ton of boats out there and can't imagine they had different results.
My buddy's are coming up for a weekend of fishing and we'll be hitting it hard. I'll try to put some detailed reports for Thursday - Saturday.
