Hunter 2 Raritan bay, evening 4/12/2012
« on: May 13, 2012, 10:35:36 AM »
Got to the marina at 4pm after a quick communion party. I was greeted by Warren "WB", Christine and the twins who offered me some delicious fresh made striper on his rod holder BBQ..  chrz
Jersey Joe and his wife Jessica made up the crew and we head out to some numbers close by that have been productive with the Stripers. The sun was out, wind was west at 5mph the tide was outgoing about an hour and a half after high tide so we had good current. Everything seemed perfect and clams were the bait of choice.
The reels started screaming ZZZZZZZZZZZ and Jessica did great hauling in Bluefish after Bluefish. After a while we went over by the 18 can in the reach where the whole fleet was anchored up and only saw Bluefish being caught. Capt.Mike on the SeaHawk came out to his usual spot and anchored up for his evening trip and started whacking clams. He was catching fish but they were using the gaff and not the net. Joe and Jessica set out the Stretch 25's in 20' of water to troll up more blues.
We gave it one more shot on the anchor in shallow water at my Spring Striper spot but the Blues were loving it. It was a fun time though and it was nice to see Jessica reeling in some nice Blues. Back at the dock by 8pm to clean up the bloody mess. chrz
   Good Luck,, Eddie

 clp A for effort.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Had the same kind of day on Saturday.   Nothing but bluefish.    Fun to catch though!

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
