Irish Ayes "Time to Get Serious" Shark River 5/14/12
« on: May 14, 2012, 07:51:31 PM »
Capt. Joe invited me aboard today for the kick-off of the Irish Ayes' "Time to Get Serious" tour. ;D

Pete, Ralph, John B and Bob Cole rounded out the crew.

The plan was to look for signs of life and jig for the striped fish before switching over and for some flatties.

While we never found the bass, we did find some nice size demons that were willing to bite our jigs.

Fluking was tough with a fairly hard SE wind, which later went straight out of the South.  To make matters worse we had several run ins with those dogs with horns on them. rgmn

However, we stuck it out and were able to boat four keepers and (I think) about 22 shorts.  Not a bad start to the tour. t^

Good times out there with Capt. Joe and the boys today.  Thanks for a great trip Joe!   slt

Not too bad a day considering the south wind and all. We did manage to find some fluke and slammin blue fish. Was hoping for some striped ones but that didn't happen. Didn't see any bunker till late in the day, nothing on them though and they were scattered making for poor casting or snagging conditions. I had the water temp at 58* and then drop to 53* within a short time. Could have been another reason for the poor bite.

Joe, just give a call and we'll make it happen.  t^

Bob, thanks for doing the report. With me being retired now it seems harder and harder for me to do one. Must be my schedule, doing nothing makes one lazy.  ;D

Good report Guys  t^ Hey Bob don't let Joe get you to write the rport just because he's retired, He's been retired for going on 3 years now, he's just getting more experince at being retired! hhppy To me if your a member of this web site and you get to fish on the Irish Ayes it's required to do the report TT^
