Thursday 5-17 bass
« on: May 18, 2012, 06:32:22 PM »
Had a hell of a time getting out to the tip of the hook around 530am. Took almost an hour and a half. tried real hard to keep the boys dry and comfy otherwise I would have been solo. once we got around the hook they were happy. We trolled one nice 27lber right away on the way south. Released thinking it was going to be a good day. That was it for a long time.  Had non stop blues out deep near three mile line. Went in and attempted fluke near the beach at the rocks. Nothing. Finally started seeing bunker on top and started snagging (to spread out for the net).  After filling the well we went and started drifting livies around 1pm over the structure I was on last trip. The rest is a blurr. First run off ended up being a triple header. 2 27lbers and a 24. We then caught steady fish for the next 2 -3 hours. We had bass slapping bunker out of the water and some mini blitzes. Bass taking livies on top and deep and lost way too many to count. Some blues mixed in but not many. Had a double header on top water danny swimmers. Mine was 33lbs, biggest for the day. Love to watch 5-6 fish chasing plugs. Best thing is we were all alone till around 3pm. Then still only had 4 boats near us. Only kept 4 fish and they were the smaller ones. Ocean was glass for the ride in.
