Weather wise, this will be a good weekend to be out on the water fishing.  A cold front will move into the area on Friday and move out through the afternoon and evening hours, bringing some showers and thunderstorms Friday overnight.  The front will also bring some relief from the heat with lower temperatures and humidity.  After the front pushes through, low pressure will form just off the coast of New England on Saturday, while weak high pressure will build behind it to the west for Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday:  Any lingering rain and thunderstorms will move out of the area by sunrise, leaving mostly sunny skies and inland highs of lower to middle 80’s.  Along the coast and on the water, temperatures will only reach the middle to upper 70’s.  Extreme southern NJ could see slightly higher temperatures both inland and along the coast.  Generally, winds will be calm from the northwest and west around 6-9 knots along the immediate coast.  Saturday night will see mostly cloudy skies and lows inland in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s while along the coast and on the water lows will be in the lower and middle 60’s.

Sunday:  Mostly cloudy.  Temperatures will be just about the same today as they are for Saturday.  There is a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms for both day and night.  These showers, if any, will be spotty and short lived.  The bigger threat of rain comes in the overnight hours.  There is not any widespread rain forecasted for NJ or the surrounding waters.  Winds will be 5-10 knots out of the northwest switching over to the south and southwest later in the day.
