Tuna Tales Sunday Sharking - Blue sharks and T-storms
« on: June 04, 2012, 01:25:02 PM »
Shark fished with friends Joe, Charlie and Les yesterday. Could not run way offshore due to the 15 to 25 mph (4 to 7' seas) forecast so I stayed around 40 to 45 miles in 64 to 65 degree water. Decent ride out with the W/NW...and a perfect drift for sharking day.

Had a school of dolphins playing around the boat just as we got to the spot.

Set up and within 5 minutes had a blue shark eat two rigs. We reeled in both rods with one shark on. Crazy.

Kept working that area with no other boats around and released six other blue sharks. We also had blue sharks swimming around the boat eating the chum bag.

Was going to switch to BFT trolling but with an eye on the weather we packed it in around 2:00 pm and headed in...around 9 miles off we hit 40 mph winds with rain and squalls...had to slow it down in the 6 to 8's...and we got back in around 4:15 pm. Not fun but I am thankful for the deep V since it was a head sea.

Back at it asap...

Joe T.
