The hope that we would have another decent bite after the last Moon, the East wind, after the runoff is gone, and any other BS thing I can think of just hasn't happened for us. We've hung in as long as we can, but when the customers loose faith also, it's time to move on....
Alan wins the Big Spring Striper pool (pic attached) with a beauty he caught way too early. Normally a fish that size (34 pounds) in April keeps customers from even thinking about going in a pool!
The fish that are being caught, mostly live-lining, is just about out for us for way too many reasons and an article for winter reading.
Caught one fish today on the last drop, after two and a half weeks of this, spending the day in the Hospital yesterday because of blood pressure and stress, it's time to go Fluking. (Not that it's gonna be any easier)
Gonna see just how "EXCELLENT" or "GOOD" it really is.... We will start Fluke fishing Sunday only because we are Chartered this Saturday Morning.
Will keep everyone on their toe's with the reports, as I don't sugar coat anything.
Looking forward to a 17 1/2 inch fish, I feel we will make a whole lot more customers happy as we move into the height of the season. Wives will actually believe that their husbands were fishing when they come home with something to eat!!
The afternoon trips will fish for Bass this weekend, there still has been a bite later in the day...I will let you know for next weekend if we are Fluke fishing in the afternoons, (chances are we will be).
Go Figure from an Excellent, unexpected April, to a Pee poor May, talk about role reversal. Like I've said many times in the past, If I could figure it out, I'd be rich!!!
