6-28-2012.....
first trip since repairs were done last weekend (Blew lower unit ouch)...
flew solo today hitting some out of the way areas north/east/and south of Sandy Hook... looking for fluke and Mr. Big..... caught fish at all locations, some better than others.... had my limit and probably threw back 5 more as another rod worker on board would have been insane.... tallied 47 fish hitting the deck, of coarse only kept my five as stated above.... Biggest going 29 inches at 9.1 lbs... thick fish as most were...... back at it with my bow monkey and Balki tomorrow.....

Hit the dock at 6am to see Bobber alone; no Orlando. Family comes first!
We headed out East and Tommy put a nice 21" in the box but the bite didn't happen.
Worked our way South with a couple different areas to see if they were "happening" yet but not for us.
The next spot started out slow (no drift) but Bobber asked for some wind and we got a nice breeze to push us along. Keeper, keeper and keeper. We stayed here until the bite and wind slowed and made a wiggle. Tommy immediately dropped a nice fish followed by me doing the same. Next drift he sticks one with his blue camo chaos and it's bent to the azz. I smile and ask if he's gonna make me break out the net and I get the nod. Just as fish gets to surface, I hook the net on the rear cleat........OH Yes I did. I freed it up and scooped in one motion just as the fish started swimming backwards from the oncoming net. As soon as I got the net around her, the line breaks at the OMT Bucktail but the fish is safely in the net. 29" x 10.5#, the first true doormat of the season for TNT.
Lost the wind/drift once more until the south wind came on. We finished up around 2pm with a total catch of 16 keepers (8 and 8)ONLY keeping 5 each and probably the same number of shorts. Throw in some sea bass and a nice sea robin.
Saw pod of porpoise on way out and in at Hook and acres of football size bunker all day long.
Bobber got the Dollar Bill fish and won the pool with his slob. Once we rounded the tip of the Hook it was 20 degrees warmer (hotter). Cleaned the boat and headed home.
Nice seeing old friends out there all day long!!!
Just a tad traffic getting back to Point from Highland...........OUCH!
