Tried to put together some trips this past week, since I was on vacation, but the weather and the u-better-do list were not cooperating. Finally got out for a few hours yesterday morning with Tom midlifefishing in search of flatties.
Stayed local; had fish out in the deep area between 11A and the west Reach that had to go grow up. Nothing in the KB hole but nice weather and flat seas. Bunker finning on top everywhere, nothing noted below or around them.
Moved to the other side of the reach as the incoming started moving better, nada.
Sun broke thru and it got steamy; finally put a no-need-to-measure fish in the box near the 20rock area, right near where we had trolled up those flatties on stretches in trips past. Slow drift, 26ft, he hit on a 1oz white BT tipped with a 10" fresh doggie strip. Good pole bend in the noodle rod.
Watch hands were spinning way too fast and it was time to head in about 11. Saw Ed and Joe at the marina as we cleaned up. Nice day.
