Got out with some friends Sunday. Left the dock around 9 to lake like conditions. Headed over to the triangle where the drift was .5kts. Bucktailed with spearing and gulp for a few short here and there. Got into a few cocktail blues for some action. Highlight of the day was when my wife hooked into a something nice. I figured she had a bigger blue the way it was pulling line out. But to my surprise she had a real nice flattie. Quick work with the net and she had a 24" 5.12 lber on the deck. She was pumped and said her heart was racing when she saw it at the boat. Awesome! High fives around. Biggest fluke I have personally seen. Bragging rights for her since it was bigger than any one I've ever caught.
Ran over to the flats and 11a area look for more current. Wind just started kicking up. Felt like we were flying on the drift, only to look down and see that wind against tide had us at .4kt. Called it a day.
I think I got the wife hooked on fluking now!
