The weekend will start out wet, with rain and/or thunderstorms left over from Friday ending during the day on Saturday. After the rain ends, drier air will move into the area later Saturday and all day Sunday. Temperatures will be seasonal in the mid 80’s with overnight lows in the mid 60’s with lower to moderate humidity. With a system moving through Friday Night into Saturday Day, there is a high probability of Small Craft Advisories. Winds could reach 30 knots with higher gusts and seas will build near 5 feet in the ocean. Inshore water conditions are rated good for the weekend right now, but Saturday is definitely seeing higher winds and seas. Midshore to Offshore has cautious conditions on Saturday with seas near 7 feet at 7 seconds and good on Sunday, however seas are still near 5 feet at 7 seconds.
The tropics are still very active with Hurricane Ernesto in the Bay of Campeche affecting Mexico. Tropical Storm Florence has dissipated and is going farther out to sea. There is another invest in the Atlantic off of Cape Verde that will likely become a tropical depression and will need to be watched. There is also another wave over Africa that will need to be watched once it gets over water.
Low pressure will dominate the area from the end of the week through Saturday with an associated cold front moving across the region on Saturday as well. Weak high pressure will build in behind the moving low pressure/cold front on Sunday through the beginning of next week.
