Shares/Separation, better known as 'PAID FISHING!' All for the profit of a few at the expense of many. FRA
We must act & act NOW! In November we must send a message. Lubchenco, EDF-Pew Lubchenco, is hell bent on shoving Shares/Separation, better known as 'PAID FISHING,' down the throats of every saltwater fisherman in this country. Fresh water is next, too much money to leave alone. We sent a very strong message in November two years ago. That is nothing compared to the message we must send this November. It is absolutely essential that we remember who appointed Jane Lubchenco as head of NOAA. Obama appointed her as a political pay-back. We, all of us, are paying the price:
Congress, national fishing groups, charter organizations and nearly every recreational angler comment oppose sector separation. Why does the Council continue down this path to destruction? Because Jane Lubchenco, head of NOAA, is pushing it, with the aid of Environmental Defense Fund.
All for the profit of a few at the expense of many FRA
From Captain Tom Hilton:

EVERY bluewater fisherman needs to make their voice heard on Sector Separation / Catch Shares - remember, this is not about red snapper - it's about EVERY federally-managed species in the Gulf. Your rights are being taken away with this for-profit scam, which BTW, does nothing for the resource itself...just the pocket books of a select few charter guys.

If this comes to pass, not only will you have to pay the regular charter fee, but you will be charged for each fish you catch. Say you catch a 20 pound snapper, the capt will ask; "Hey, you want to take that home? If so, that fish will cost you $100 ($5/pound dockside price). If not, that's ok too, as I will simply sell it to the local fish house when I get back to the dock".

Destroying our sport, our heritage, and our very economy! Shares/Separation..."All for the profit of a few at the expense of many!"

I think our great sport is worth fighting for! Do you? Bob Harbison concerned native Florida sportsman

This just in:   public outcry at work!

We are being heard!    The will of the American people is an unstoppable force.  We will NEVER, that's NEVER, allow the privation of our great sport to become a reality. Shares/separation will NOT be shoved down the throats of the American fisherman/woman.                       Bob Harbison

latest news from new orleans
looks like the sector separation scam is coming apart at the seams!

gary jarvis left in a huff and has apparently resigned from the CFA.

the gulf council just tabled sector separation for at least a year, along with any new catch shares.

good new for once!

now we need to DEMAND that the effort/landings data br goundtruthed, as Strelcheck's fairytale numbers need to be shown to be impossible.
