Had to fight a thresher like that because some idjit (me  ;D) forgot to put the fighting belt on the boat.  fcp Rolled up some rags as a makeshift cushion.  hhppy It worked, ask Eddie Hunter.  TT^

 whs Joes right!!  The 6' Thresher was tough but the 12' Thresher was insane.. The rags on the butt of the rod did help though.

In the video above the rod breaks the moment he rests it on the gunwale..

Was a little confused at first when the called it a bass. Its definately a grouper. I hooked up with one of them when I was in Fla in May, it ate a whole stingray about the size of a large pizza, only had it on for about a minute then it snapped the 400lb dacron. TT^
