Sea Life Cameras?

As I'm sure a lot of you are also, I'm pretty hard on things like cell phones and cameras.

My second digital camera in as many years is shot, thanks to my own carelesness

I did some looking and I found a company called Sea Life which primarily makes underwater cameras but they have a waterproof, shockproof point and shoot land camera for about $200.00 that I'm thining of buying. Anyone know anything about this company or thier cameras?

Hi bassnblues,

I just looked at the camera and it looks interesting.  I never heard of that company but thats OK.  I see that it has 6.1 mp which is good enough for snapshot type pictures.  It has a depth range of 200 ft again not bad, especially if you intend to use it for above water shots (you still have to keep the lens clean) I would tether some sort of float to the strap in case it goes over board.

I haven't seen a price yet to compare it to any of the big guns yet.

Hi All,

I just checked B&H Photo and their price is $499.95 less B&H.

Again not to bad and in the ballpark of other cameras with comparable specs and buying an extra housing for underwater use.

The point and shoot ECOshot intersts me. It's a 6.0 megapixel and goes for $199.99 at B&H. I'll most likely pick one up next month unless I'm swayed otherwise.
