Had the Bill Babicz crew onboard again for some fluke fishing today. Flat calm...just a gorgeous morning...started in the ambrose just before the slack. Not much going on except a couple of nice sea biscuits for the box. Patiently waited for the tide and when it came it was all bottom current for the most part....the lines were running faster than the boat was causing a mess of the tackle spinning up on itself even with the heavy lead. The channel itself was a minefield of garbage and big logs and the occasional coney island whitefish going by. Managed a couple of keepers but we had to bail out of that situation. Ran to where we had them last few days but even that was slower. Finally got them chewing around 11 a.m. but it was mostly smaller fish. Kept only 9 for the box today..nothing big and no exotics today at all...couple of small blues rounded out the day before heading for the barn.
