Went out on the Big Mohawk today, had very rough NE condintions for the first 2 or 3 hours, fished no more then 50 yards off the beach and even then we couldn't use less then 8 ounces and the drift was extremely fast. Ended up catching 3 searobins and a tiny fluke with just 1 keeper on the boat during that time. Between 10-10-30ish the wind died down and we headed to deeper water. Ended up having a great day, fairly good amount of keepers on the boat although the pool was around 5, and I caught my personal limit at 4, none bigger then about 19. My dad caught a keeper too. Ended up with 16 shorts and 4 keepers as the tally
mostly in a 3/4 hour period too.
My cooler-
Used white bucktails with white/plain gulp grubs.
Oh and if you know the Mohawk well enough, didn't lose 1 rig today
That's a first on there!
