Irish Ayes Fishing report 9,30, 2012

 t^
I had the pleasure of fishing with my friends Capt.Joe, Johnny,Andy and Dennis. We head out to the Shark river reef and anchored up with the fleet for a pick at the yellow eyed demons. They sure were big and fought hard.
While were out on anchor the distress call came from the boat taking on water and we witnessed it move over towards the Cock Robbin for assistance until the Coast Guard made a quick appearence on scene to lend a hand. clp clp
Later we tried throwing some lures on the pots for mahi but they seemed to have left the area. The water temp was around 68 deg and we had no takers. :-\
We decided to move further inshore to hit a nice lumpy spot and anchor up for some bottom fishing. We must have boated around 200 fish on clam, spearing, Mackeral and Mullet. Mostly we had Seabass, Bergals, Robbins and a fluke.
At days end we had around 8 Seabass and a bunch of Blues in the cooler. I didnt take many pics but I have a shot of the vessel in distress.
Thanks Joe TT^ for a fun day as always on the Irish Ayes

Thanks for posting Eddie. It's always good to have you on board. Lotsa small sea bass out there being feed and released.  :P

Bill, the boat was pumped out by the CG and it appeared to return to port under her own power with a CG escort. Great job by the crew of the Cock Robin and USCG in making the distress vessel and crew safe.  slt

Glad to hear you guys had a nice day. I'm sure the guys in the rescued vessel are happy and need a change of underwear.

Glad they made it back. Too bad they forgot one of the most important maritime safety rules when in distress..... DON YOUR PFD!! 1 bad roller or some moron who sped buy too fast could've sank that boat for sure!

Listening to the talk on the video it seemed that they were being directed by the Cock Robin crew and patrons but refused/neglected to do so.  5hrug
