Since pops bailed on me. Hit my dock around 6:30 am. Low tide so no peanuts.
Went out of the harbor, watched some maniacs trying to net some just as harbor opened up, but I went right by them.
\Fond them in 2-3 of water, threw the net twice and got my fill.
Stayed close to home @ 1st and nailed a 17.5" within 5 minutes of 1st drift.
Caught a few shorts, nailed another keeper @ 18" or so then it slowed down a bit.
Made a run to where I had been doing fairly well lately and put 2 in the boat (1 just over 20") within 1st 15mn or so.
Called Salty pig over to get him in on the action and saw him nail a couple nice keepers.
Weeded thru the shorts and put another in the box.
by 11 am wind and drift changed (drift died actually) and then it got tough.
Stuck it out until 3, made some moves but only found shorts. REAL tough with wind blowing the drift against the current.
Made my way back in, fillet'd the fish, cleaned the boat and now back home.
Wound up with 5 which seemed better then most did at my marina, especially considering I was solo.
All fish caught on live peanuts with either a Pink or yellow gulp swimming minnow.
Pink was hot for me early and all the bigger ones caught on it.
Yellow from 12pm on, but all shorts.
All keepers caught by 10:30 I believe.
Got me some nice sashimi for the week
Notice the 2nd fish from the right- He was floppin around as I took pic. Most of the fish were still alive when I got back. I keep them in my 920 gallon live well
with the peanuts and they live all day in there with the bait.
