9/7 Funky Munky Report
« on: September 08, 2007, 07:44:06 AM »
Fished back bay area.

Not much to report.

Little trouble getting some nuts for some reason, but then found them and loaded up (altho they were on the small size). Yes, I said it, my nutz were small yesterday.

Slow drift early on. Caught a few shorts then put a 17.5" or so in the box (lot of meat on him tho). Caught a few more shorts, missed a LOT of hits (believe they were tiny sea robins stealing my bait as I did get a few).

Wind kicked up, drift became fast and not in dirction I was looking for in area I fished, so made some moves to reah out by SH.

Nothing and just saw a lot of boats moving around, not too many nets going down on party or rec boats.

Called it a day around 1;30 or so.

At least the weather was nice, cranked the tunes and did my final fluke trip of the season.

Hopeflly, they will cooperate.
Not much of a fall fishery last several years.

May have to do seabass, porgy and weakfish rest of season (with blues for sport).

Mike,

Sorry I wasn't able to get out there with ya on friday. We will definately have to hook up when the stripers start. Guess I'll just be taking a break for a while now and re-grouping and getting my gear in order.
