When do you start using bunker spoons?
« on: April 04, 2007, 09:39:26 PM »
Just wondering when you guys start trolling bunker spoons? I have bought two set ups and I am dying to bust them out. I usually frown on trolling but I did well last year on stretch 25's and umbrella rigs. I am looking to try and nail some big bass on spoons. This will be my first time with the spoons. Any ideas?

Hi Guys,

Don't underestimate deep diving lures like Mann's Stretch lures. They are deadly in 20-30 ft. of water in the spring. I pull them on 50 lb. PowerPro.

Thanks,

Capt. Ed

Ed, I used them last year and bought some new ones over the winter. They killed!! I am probably venturing out tomorrow and will try them and an umbrella rig. I was just wondering if there is an ideal time to use the spoons.

Hey Greg, you can start useing them at any time, I tend to use them in the deeper water 25-30' and use the umbrella and shad rigs in the bay 15-20' range. they do tend to dive deeper then the rigs do.
