THE PERIOD OF RECORD AT BUOY44025 BEGAN IN 1975. BUOY 44025 IS LOCATED 30 NAUTICAL MILES SOUTHOF ISLIP, NY.BASED ON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED, IT IS SAFE TO SAY THAT BOTHNATIONAL DATA BUOY LOCATIONS NEAREST SANDY HOOK, ACHIEVED A RECENTRECORD EXTREME SEA STATE ON TOP OF AND PROBABLY VERY CLOSE TO THETIME OF THE RECORD STORM TIDE AT SANDY HOOK.
