Nice day to sneak away
« on: January 14, 2013, 10:17:48 PM »
I had the day off today. Although I wasn't able to fish all day, I was able to get over to a local lake for about a half hour or so.  With the temperature hovering around 60 and a cold front coming in, I knew I had to take advantage of this opportunity.

Didn't catch anything huge today.  Just three pickerel and a tiny largemouth.  Still felt good to set a hook though. t^

Check out the pic of the bass.  The cuts on his flank (between his rear dorsal and his anal fin) look to me like something had a hold on him, but he managed to get away from whatever it was.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Nice to get some fishing in.   It sure looks like that bass escaped from a set of jaws..  t^

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

looks like a musky or pike got it.  one of the lakes were we fish we have seen guys reeling in the catch...either a large sunny or smaller bass and the darn musky just tries to latch on and swallow it.
It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.
