Christmas Eve Tog
« on: December 24, 2012, 10:45:26 PM »
Got to take advantage of that window of weather and man what a window it was! Met up with my good friend Capt. Rob at his home in Little Egg at 6:30 am. Calm morning with a heavy frost on the boat. We made a decision maybe a little breakfast at the diner was in order to let the boat defrost a bit. With a full belly and enough clothes on to accompany Santa himself we were on our way, I failed to mention we're running a 23' open center! Brrrrrrrr!!!!!! Out little egg at a comfortable 20 knots to the first drop in about 70' of water. Drop and pull tight on the anchor to a machine lit up like a Christmas tree. Game on Brother when I say it was "drop and reel fishing" I ain't kidding. Never left the piece wiggled a little here and there, all smaller fish with a limit of keepers to 5 lbs but non stop action all day! Greenies were the meal ticket. As the sun got up we started shedding clothes. I catch a glimpse of birds working hard with big fish blasting we thought maybe Bluefin but turned out to be a huge school of Dolphin. Ocean laid down flat for the ride home . Cleaned fish, gear, boat just in time for the first snow flakes. What a great day with a good friend!!!!!!    Merry Christmas all and tight lines

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
