Adding another Fishfinder.. opinion needed.

OK.. I am having a difficult time deciding on these 2 units.

Options are between the Garmin 550C.  They claim that it is so clear that you can see your jig move. 5hrug

Next, the Lowrance Elite 7,  They claim to have this down scanning technology.

I like the Lowrance....if u get that unit, make sure its the 50/200 xducer and not the 83/200.
I am adding the Lowrance Hds Touch this year since i already have the Hds Gen 2....i can interlink the 2 of them!

I'm leaning towards the lowrance for that overlay scanning.  I have a Raymarine combo on the boat already.

Will you be running both?  If so check that they will not interfere with one another signal.

Not sure if that can happen but I would check just for $hits & giggles.

Nick I dont know if your into through hull transducers  but that would be an option and keep it midship

Maybe Matt at Task Marine will have some helpful opinions on both machines.

Both are nice units. I found that with Garmin they discontinue doing repairs or stocking parts to units that are 3 to 4 years old.If the unit you have in mind is a model made 2 years ago, some times service could be a problem in the fourth year. I quess that could hold true to many manufactuers.
