My Winter Project
« on: January 27, 2013, 06:49:24 PM »
I have spent a lot of time researching and asking questions about what make a good deep water fluke bucktailing rod. This rod needs to handle 3~8 Oz bucktail with the sweet spot being 4 ~ 6 oz range. soft but not too soft in it action with some backbone when I hopefully catch my 10+ lb'er the summer.  I settled on a Seeker GTS702L (Inshore lite) blank. It's 7 ft, glass/graphite composite, fuji thru blank pistol grips, Fuji Acolite guides with cork grips. The build begins.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

What color is that blank Phil? Looks like a Candy Apple Red or just Maroon? Looking forward to seeing the finished product. t^
