Staff from the NJ DEP Division of Fish and Wildlife's Endangered and Nongame Species Program, along with state Conservation Officers, were recently involved with the rescue and transport to a rehabilitation facility of an injured bald eagle. Such action on behalf of a state endangered species is an example of the mission of the ENSP which works to protect, manage and restore rare wildlife, and keep "common" species common.
The ENSP is funded almost entirely by donations, the sale of Conserve Wildlife License Plates and the "check-off for wildlife" option on the state income tax form.
For more information and photos from the rescue operation, visit
