Batteries
« on: April 23, 2013, 05:36:47 PM »
I have 2 batteries. Both of these are starter. Since I have this nice new deep cycle battery from the banquest. (Thanks to who ever donated it! ) I was told somewhere along  line that you shouldn't mix them. Either both starter or deep cycle. Any opinions on this?  slt

Sorry. Don't know Jack about batteries.

But the donation was from Still Running Rick and Harrick International Inc.

1 starter for starting the boat and 1 deep cycle for electronics and bilge
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

whs,  you can combine the 2 types.  I have for 5 seasons and never had an issue.  Although I just replaced those 2 batteries with new 1000amp cranking batteries.  Apparently deep cycles are designed to be run down low and then recharged.  But like I said I never had an issue with them on the boat.
