Island Beach State Park is now open from the gatehouse to Area 23, which is the end of the paved road. You cannot go to the inlet yet, but this gives you about 8 miles of fishing beach at this point.

UPDATE...  The times at the park have changed.

IBSP now opens at 6:30 AM and closed at 10:00 PM.

We were out there most of the day today.  Drove from Gillies to A23 and back on the sand.
There's still plenty of pieces of large debris and sketchy sand.  Take it slow and keep your eyes on the sand.

Thanks Chris.  I will be out there on Wednesday in the morning.  It feels great to be getting things back but there is a caviet to all this.  BE CAREFUL OUT THERE. All the government agencies are caving into what people want but sometimes it is not quite what we remember as it was.  Why? Because it is not like it was.  Its all new out there folks and with anything new one must take the time to explore and GO EASY.

With that said, enjoy the openings as they become available.  I hear via hearsay that Seaside Park's beaches are open to fishing but I can not confirm that yet.  When I find out more I will post it here.
