I would stay with a cost of around $100.00 keep in mind its a kayak so your going to need something that is water proof......The yak is going to get wet even on a dry day unlike a boat.

Also one that is in black & White will pull less from your battery, giving you more fishing time on the water.

when you get the yak.....Sit in it and think before you install anything......Nothing is worse then something in your way while fishing......Also be sure you can reach the on-off button from where your sitting....But at the same time can see the screen.

Just think.....Before you drill holes.

Ok then cheaper it will be since it will be a wet ride, glad you mentioned that fact, just happy I can buy one for the yak. Ok here are two models any suggestions or another kind.

Hi Dale, I am partial to Lowrance.  I have the X50 DS that is discontinued but it matches the X-4.  Both are dual scan and most important they are waterproof.

I can't tell you how many times mine has been totally submerged or just plain soaked.

Great product.

Looks like I will have to make a trip to Cabelas. No one has the fish finder I want local . Besides it will give me some time to spend with my kids.

Hummingbird has a new GPS/FF combo this year for $165. That is much cheaper then the past. Install needs to be simple. Avoid plugs, jacks, and switches, and other excesive connections.. They are just failure points.
