Drought Status for New Jersey
« on: May 10, 2013, 11:16:49 AM »
Despite having what feels like adequate or even too much rain across much of NJ, the latest Drought Monitor for NJ has Western and Northern areas of the state in the "Abnormally Dry" Category or the first stage of drought.

This is a change for most of these areas.  The last drought index for the state only showed extreme northwestern NJ as dry.  However, this map does not take rainfall from this week or anticipated from tonight and Saturday.

Thanks for the warning Matt.
Everyone must be sure to stay hydrated during dry spells to avoid combustion. chrz
