Blues and weaks 5/7
« on: May 08, 2013, 01:13:25 PM »
Fished the backside of ocean county last night with a friend visiting from Minnesota. Found the small blues eager to eat just about anything which is always fun. Saw a guy struggling with a nice ~10lb blue which is even more fun. Once the tide switched, I put a fin s in one of my favorite spots and got whacked immediately. The fish made a nice long first run and was positive it was a nice 10lb class bass judging by the fight. I brought him up into the light and surprise!, no stripes but speckles. Was a nice 6lb weakfish. Snapped some quick photos and sent her back to make some more little weakies. Next cast, dropped another nice fish in the same spot.  Could not find a bass to complete the trifecta but it was a nice night out swapping fishing stories about big northern pike, walleye, and musky. My friend saw that weakfish and says, wow looks like a pretty walleye!

I will post a pic after I clean up the background. Don't want to give up my spot that easily  ;)

Lol it's not some hidden back creek that's for sure, but there is only enough room for two guys to fish this spot really effectively (IMO).  I've said too much  :-X
