Pops soul shake down 5/18

Cath and I  finally got our shake down trip in after having the boat at the marina for two weeks. Broke the inlet and started looking for good marks under  the  endless bunker schools. Stopped to jig and drop livelies from shark river inlet up to the Red church where we tried our luck flukeing. Cath was dragging bait with no takers and I was buck tailing and I latched into a skate. Water temps were in the low fifties with getting close to the beach not making a difference. We headed back to the inlet to try for the flat ones , Cath hooked up with a border line keeper that swam off while I was reaching for the net. Always feels good to get back on the water. Radio chatter seamed that most of the guys catching the striped ones were trolling chartreuse spoons and stretches!   t^

Nice shake down cruise Skip. I've yet to get out. Hopefully I can get finished up this week and take er out.
