« on: September 26, 2007, 07:21:38 PM »
break out another thousand, fightng boat all summer, carbs rebuilt, but I know not set up right, runs good wot but still not getting full rpms,at idle have trouble keeping running ,when trying to hold position foward to reverse idling, also bogs without reving a few times before putting in gear.paid marine mechanic to work on but not satisfied, anyone know a good mechanic to set up carbs, paid out alot already, just want the job done right.also today lost power trim, will test and repair on my own.got stuck at ramp almost low tide.slowly pulling out with motor down,to get to screw slot to relieve pressure to raise motor, was able to release and raise motor.no damage, fishing report today, one porgy,6 inch weakfish, and some big sea robins.but I still love my fishing.
of all liars among mankind the fisherman is most trustworthy.  William Sherwood Fox

Seems like there is always something to do when you own a boat.

It never ends!!

But, I'll take the skinned knuckles, greasy fingernails, late nights working and cursing at her, AND my always empty wallet, and still own a boat over not having one any day   ;D

I sold my boat less than two weeks ago and am getting my next one Saturday.  Honestly, these have got to be the longest two weeks of my life!  All these warm days, nice evenings and no boat.  It's awful!  I'll take the strained wallet and cuts and bruises!
