What weight range of bucktails and lead should one carry for party boat fluking out of Manasquan or Shark River inlets?

Party boats now are fishing close to the beach, 25-45 feet of water. I would bring 2-8 oz. If you go on a day when they are calling for not so strong of a wind bring more of the lighter weights. Visa- versa for a windy day. I was out the other day fishing in 30 feet and needed 10-12 oz sinkers to hold bottom.

Last week I used 6oz in 60ft on the morning trip and 6ozs in afternoon in 20ft once the south wind kicked up. I carry between 2 and 8 oz bucktails on party boats. If anything heavier is required I'm either dragging bait or drinking beers in the bow.

No problem Chris. Give me a shout (even at the last minute) when you can make it out and if I have an opening you're in.  t^

you need to carry all sizes.  You want just enough weight to hold bottom and nothing more, so water conditions and depth will play a huge factor in what size you need
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.
