Picked another great day for offshore!!

Fished with Darren, Eric and Joe for mako and cod. Left SRI at 3:00 am. Got set up and had a very slow drift but at least we were moving. Had three blue sharks until we got the right bite around 11:30 am.

We landed a nice 150 lb class Mako! He was 72" and ate a bluefish fillet.

Gutted and iced the Mako and got on a nearby wreck and drop and reel codfishing to 21 lbs. Boated 40 nice cod with many over 12 lbs in just 4 hours of wreckfishing. Eric had the big one at 21 lbs with Joe's not far behind. We had some 10 lb+ double headers also. Left them biting.

The dolphins also put on a show for us and it was fun to see them playing.

Got back in around 8:00 pm with lots of fillet work to do.

Perfect day, catch, weather and crew!! Welcome summer!

Back at it asap...

Joe T.

Thanks for the great report and pictures.  Looks like you had one of those special days where everything was perfect. I am sure you will remember this day for a long time.  18 hour trip and right back at it, WOW, I would be wiped out for a few days.  TT^

Great day Joe.   Nice to catch one fast then switch it up for cod. Your right about no drift.  We were at the reesor and no wind or current at all. :P.

t^ Good job on the fish again
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!

Awesome job. cant remember a time where the ocean was so alive.
