Went out solo this AM looking for some fluke. Made a few drifts on the Knoll where I landed five shorts. I got to say hello to Ms Fish on the Mr. Fish II, nice seeing you Trish. I made a move over by Romer and added five more shorts to the count. I was about to leave but just as I drifted over the channel edge a nice 4 lb fkuke hit the bait rod and was soon in the cooler. Shortened the drift and I hook up again this time I dip the rod tip while reaching for the net and all I could do was watch the 20+" fluke slowly drift out of reach until he realized he was off the hook. Next two drifts the skates made their presence known so I moved over by the single stick and managed to put a 5 lb fluke in the box. I made three drifts in that area but only managed 10 shorts after second keeper. 90% of the fluke I caught were caught on a dead stick bait rig with spearing and squid. The bucktail produced birds, dogs and skates. By 11:30 I was getting hungry so I headed in just as the fog was moving in from the south.
