« on: July 22, 2013, 09:34:54 PM »
Headed out around 7. went straight to were we left them last time. Brought my butter knife for the fog. Good drift. Not to fast. short X 10 then the drift picked up. 5hrug ran over to the candle sticks. Short X 5. Off the false hook. Short X2. Drifted from the ammo pier almost to Manhattan short X bazillion. SKUNK. :'( First time in three years. thd  Need to get out to deeper water I guess by what I am reading around. Didn't want to push my luck today with the fog.

The secret to catching fish is, to fish, where the fish are.

whsDo not feel bad Rippin Lip or anybody else that fished yesterday and didn't come home with dinner. I fished the PM trip on a party boat out of the Highlands yesterday and out of 18 people on the boat there were only 8 keepers. The Capt. IMO runs is the best half day fluke boat out of that marina. I'm talking about the Sea Tiger with Capt. Hal at the wheel. He fished on both sides of the Sandy Hook Channel behind 17 and then up on Flynns but the picking were slim so don't feel bad. Next time out it will be a better day for you is all you can hope for. slt
