9/6/13 Flukin
« on: September 07, 2013, 07:09:16 AM »
The original plan for yesterday was to hit the Manasquan Ridge to see if we could find some mahi or bonito. Hit the inlet to some sporty conditions. We still made the trek to the ridge figuring we could always try for deep water fluke. We got out there and conditions were about 3'-4' and windy. We opted not to troll in the slop and just went looking for fluke. We spent the first half of the day jumping from place to place picking through double digit short fluke and trash fish.

On the way in we stopped at the SE corner of the ACR. We only managed two keepers, one at 18.5" and 22". For the conditions of the day it wasn't bad.

Fred, fishing the "Kristy Marie" from Manasquan River Club. Channels 16/67/68.

Thanks for the report.  t^ At least you got out fishing and came home with some dinner. All the reports I read said it was very "sporty or rough" in the morning. At least you did not get rained on.  LOL  rofla

Thanks for the report Fred. Sounds like a lot of rod action, and at least you get dinner out of the deal. Mahi next time that's all.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><
