Great Bay Report: Thursday 10/11/07
« on: October 11, 2007, 06:41:01 PM »
Met up with a friend at 5:30am to do some striper fishing.  Couldn't get on the water for over an hour since a severe thunderstorm decided to meet up with us at the launch area.  We finally put in close to 7:00.  The winds were really howling, which made holding the 14' aluminum boat in the right postion to cast our lures a difficult chore.  But my friend did an excellent job keeping us on target!

I managed to boat two decent stripers up to 31" on a bucktail (naturally). ;D

Unfortunately another (even more severe storm) started bearing down on us, so we decided to pack it in.  As we headed back the storm caught up to us and we were in the middle of it.  Hard driving rain, thunder and lightning made the trip back in that little metal boat a bit scary!

But we ultimately made it back safely in time for lunch.

Good to see you got back safely.  Nice catch for the short time you had on the water.  t^
